Summer – Fall 2024

Animatic

The team completed and refined a 3-minute animatic, laying out the full story beat by beat.

Concept Art & Style

Early sketches explored a sculpted, blocky aesthetic for the forest world, defining the visual language of the film.

Character Design

Me, the Bee, and the Bear were all sketched and developed, moving from 2D concepts toward 3D forms.

Early Modeling & Testing

The Bear was fully modeled, Me began taking shape in 3D, and early environment and water simulation tests laid the technical groundwork for production.

Production

Winter 2026

Animation

Animators brought Me, Blueberry, and the full cast to life — from rough blocking through spline polish and final performance passes.

Scene Assembly & Layout

Layout artists staged every shot so each frame felt like a living illustration — dynamic but grounded.

Lighting & Rendering

Lighting artists crafted warm, naturalistic light. Render passes tuned to maintain the painterly look across every scene.

Post-Production

Spring 2026

Compositing & VFX

Render layers composited and color graded — adding depth, atmosphere, and that signature painted warmth to every shot.

Sound Design & Music

Sound designers and composers layered in ambient textures, character sounds, and an original score.

Delivery & Festival Prep

Final deliverables packaged for SCAD capstone screening and submitted to animation festivals for summer 2026.
